Don’t you feel like some things have been compromised. To get through life, what gives? what takes? This folder might be a bit of coincidental metaphor but share a piece of the real drama of getting the tools for success (as you define it) in life.

Sometimes pondering is helpful-take time to smell the roses! Ethics is philosophy in the sky of journeys ventured and to come!
Posted by firepointe | October 25, 2007, 3:53 pmI don’t know what it means to say that “Ethics is the philosophy in the sky of journeys…”. I am as into poetic metaphor as the next guy, but the philosophical pursuits surrounding ethics are intense, elaborate, and at times very concrete. They are not necessarily based upon individualistic journeys, but are formed – dare I say discovered – within a larger fabric of existence (that by the way is a poetic as I am going to get on this topic).
Systematizing, defending, and recommending concepts of right and wrong behavior…. meta-ethics, normative ethics, and applied ethics…it is quiet the intellectual endeavor.
I did enjoy this post. Finding this folder is quite the happy accident. To me it points to our tendency to sometimes scrap our beliefs/values just to replace them with easier, more practical or immediate “shit”. It seems that often times convenience in the short term wins out over high standards in the long term.
